I am a Research Associate in Environmental Gerontology at the School of Architecture, Planning & Landscape at Newcastle University, UK. My research interests lie in the relationship between individuals and the built environment and the influence they can exert over each other, with a focus on ageing, health and disability. I have conducted research on health-focused home improvement services, specialist accommodation for older people, home adaptation services, health professionals' involvement in housing design and resident participation in regeneration. I have also completed theoretical work around the concept of trust and its relationship with participation. I am an empirical researcher with experience in both qualitative and quantitative methods and have completed projects in the public, private and academic sectors. I am passionate about using research to influence policy and practice so feel free to get in touch if you think I could help with a research problem or project or are interested in any of my previous work. |
